1965 – Began independent study of Vedanta and Yoga Philosophy.
1970 – Attended Raj Yoga Academy, Haridwar, U.P., India.
Study of Raja Yoga and Vedanta in ashram environment commencing with initiation into the Raja Yoga Meditation Tradition of Yogi Raj Sri Hansji Maharaj.
1975 – Initiation into Kriya Yoga by R.E. Davis a directly ordained disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda. Center for Spiritual Awareness – Lakemont, GA.
1977 – Began first of seven teacher training sessions in the Kriya Yoga tradition of Paramhansa Yogananda. Center for Spiritual Awareness, Lakemont, GA.
Subsequently began conducting Yoga and meditation classes and study groups on
The Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras.
1980 – Ordination as C.S.A. Minister and teacher of the Kriya Yoga Tradition by R.E. Davis. Center for Spiritual Awareness, Lakemont, GA.
1985 – Began study of Ayurveda with Dr. David Frawley. Attended first of successive, yearly intensives at C.S.A. Lakemont G.A.
1987 – Study of Jnana Yoga with Swami Vishnudevanand Saraswati and Swami Shantanand Saraswati. Handiya Baba Yogala, Yoga Vedanta Kutir, Allahabad, India. Shanti Temple, Spring Valley, N.Y. Certified to teach in the Jnana Yoga tradition. Acquired the monastic name Premananda.
1993 – Completion of American Institute of Vedic Studies, Ayurvedic Healing Course.
Authored Ayurveda Study guide based on the course material.
Certified in Ayurveda with 500 hours of study for the usual 350 hour course.
- Completion of Ayurvedic Intensive training in Santa Fe, NM. with Dr. Frawley, Dr. Ranade, Dr Joshi, and Dr. Qutab.
1994 –’96 – Graduate and staff member of The New England Inst. of Ayurvedic Medicine, Cambridge, MA.
Authored two Ayurveda Study guides, a Dietary Therapy manual, and Yoga Philosophy Text .
Certified by NEIAM as Ayurvedic Practitioner. Received D.Ay from Open International University for Complimentary Medicines, Columbo, Sri Lanka.
1996 – Acknowledged as teacher of Ayurveda and Raja Yoga – Dr. David Frawley.
1996- Began full time, private practice (after a 30-year career as a Senior Process Engineer in Semiconductor Research and Development)
offering Ayurvedic Consultations, seminars and class programs in :
Ayurveda for Self-care – Study courses on practical Ayurveda covering the principles of Ayurveda, the relationship of Ayurveda to Yoga, dietary therapy and herbology.
Raja Yoga Meditation – Workshop series on the progressive meditation methods of the Yoga tradition.
Veda Darshan – Workshop series on the classic systems of Yoga, Yoga practice, philosophy and psychology.
Authored and self- published over 30 coursebooks, booklets and student/client manuals.
Articles have been published in the American Ayurvedic Journal, and Light on Ayurveda Journal, of which I served on the editorial staff, as well as several web sites including The American Inst. of Vedic Studies and Dhanvantari Ayurveda.
1999 & 2000– Study of Yoga Therapy and Mantra Meditation with Yogi Raj Swami Nityabhodanand Udasin. Granbury, TX and Delhi, India.
2000 – Attended the Advanced Study Course in Ayurveda given by The Indian Council for Ayurved Promotion Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Dr David Frawley, in Rishikesh, India. Received the title of Ayurved Bishak.
Membership in American Ayurvedic Assn. with status as Diplomate in Ayurvedic Health Science
2001 - Attended the Advanced Clinical Study programs at The Rishikesh College of Ayurveda, in Rishikesh, India and Maha Khumba Mela, Allahabad.
2007 – Completed The American Institute of Vedic Studies Yoga and Ayurveda Advanced Course from Dr. Frawley and The Ayurveda/Yoga teacher Training program at Yogaville in Buckingham Va.
2008 – Certified by Dr. David Frawley (Pundit Vamadeva Shastri) as an Acharya of Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta and Vedic Dharma with 1200 hours of advanced study in the field of Integral Ayurveda/Yoga Therapy.
Currently an Ayurveda Practitioner offering Classes, Workshops, Study Groups and Private instruction
